I feel that mostly my blogs are pretty nice, albeit ' I hope ' challenging. But today the nice mood has left and my words are coming out straight-forward. Okay, here we go...But one caveat: do not shoot the messenger! You have to call the devil by its name.

I have realized that this time that we find ourselves in right now calls for some straight-forwardness. Pretence and nice words don't cut the mustard, as it were. Humans are too far up their own mind-games to listen otherwise. Moreover, this planet sits at a crux point of evolution in which each person's spiritual progress is more crucial than you may realize. Crucial, not just to the collective as a whole, but to your very own life's future path.

It doesn't cease to amaze me how deluded and ego-centric most human beings are. This delusion is totally self-created. Not only that, in our thoughts and beliefs we veritably insist on being this way. The mind-fixed ideas will find all manner of clever reasons for you to remain the same. Better the devil you know, is, I guess, an apt phrase.

People don't realize that they suffer at their own hands, not in those of someone else, or God's, or the devil. The devil is in you, not outside you. Just as the divine is in you, and most certainly not in a church or in any other dogma. Believing God or Truth to be external will always lead you up the garden path, whilst having you miss the beauty along the way.

Nothing in this world can take place without the conditions being present for it to do so. The common denominator of conditions occurring to you or around you is without exception: you. Thus to believe that the problem is his, theirs, or God's, is a foolish belief. There is a natural law of universal justice, otherwise known as karma, that allows no exceptions nor overlooks anything. You will not be permitted a handicap, however much you delude yourself, for all must learn, grow and evolve. This is the reason we are here.

In life there is a battle. The battle is to go beyond the attachment to our negativity. This negativity is hidden in most people. Hidden from themselves by choice, because should they admit to it, they would have to behave differently going forward. It takes the form of secretive hatred, silent disdain, pernicious judgment, hidden superiority and suppressed rage. Such secret thoughts are self-massaged and are like a downward spiral into more negativity. Anger begets anger. Intolerance begets intolerance. Hatred begets hatred. Fake affection begets fake affection. War begets war. And so on and so forth.

On multi-dimensional levels some people even see these negative beliefs as evil entities such as ghouls, ill-intentioned trans-dimensional beings and dark energy that prey on individuals, cajoling them into maintaining and increasing their negative outlook. That's why it's so hard to unlock the lock of putrefied thoughts.

Due to my own experiences I have become convinced of the continuity of consciousness beyond the physical manifestation of life. Our consciousness cannot be snuffed out even if we wanted it to be. Free will operates within the laws of the universe and it doesn't mean that we can do whatever we like without facing consequences.

There is no 'escape'. And there is no standing still. Energy is always shifting either towards more Light, or more darkness. Herein lies a choice. This choice is for the most part abdicated by most people, yet it is offered to us daily, and each day could be completely transformed if so choose. But when we abdicate this choice and fall onto the fixed territory of negative belief, we give up our own evolution.

You may say that making this choice daily is too much effort ' you know, 'Oh that's far too much like hard work, I've got a life to live!' But consider this: the effort from falling back onto the soot of life-snubbing beliefs is where the hard work actually is. This is because beliefs of their very nature must be projected onto others or ourselves, they cannot exist in isolation from everything around them. Beliefs do not leave you or others alone. They will hound you till you project them.  The payoff is feeling you're right, special, justified in your negativity or all manner of twisted thoughts. Beliefs give rise to feelings of stress, negativity, anger, resentment, jealousy, hatred and greed. To name a few.  These are very cleverly hidden, moreover.

Here are some statements to highlight what is present when darkness is chosen over Light:

-          Being nice to others when inwardly we feel silent hatred

-          Women who are nice on the outside but jealous inside

-          Men who use charm to woo women but really disrespect them

-          Sarcastic comments ' these hide anger

-          Cynical comments ' these hide anger

-          Blaming your partner for problems in your relationship ' the blame is your responsibility and keeps you entrenched

-          Secretly worrying about what others will think of you ' here your ego is having a field day

-          Feeling despair but pretending you're fine ' if so, let fear debilitate you

-          Coldness hiding under fake warmth

-          Pretending to yourself you know better than others, even when you don't

-          Believing you are God, or especially chosen

-          Seeking external belief-systems and believing you have arrived, or finally belong, but at the same time you deny the doubts you feel about whether you have actually arrived at all

-          Covering up your greed and ambition with token generosity

-          Feigned spirituality and elitist self-righteous religiosity covered up as all-loving wisdom and truth

-          Suppressing genuine emotion whilst showing contrived emotion

-          Disrespect for children, animals and nature

-          Indignation that covers up what you don't want to see in yourself.

Harsh-sounding statements, but you only have to open your eyes and see how rife this all is in everyday life.

Detaching from one's beliefs and becoming more respectful of one's inner journey is that which breaks the cycle. It frees you up since you no longer have anything to prove. But beware! Only genuine detachment counts, not just saying you feel detached.

In the end, there is no Satan, devil, demons, negative energy or suchlike other than what is already within us. Once this truth is seen, then steps can be taken to be accountable for ourselves and our projections. As far as you're concerned, it only takes one, and that's you. And as far as I'm concerned, it only takes one, and that's me.

This juncture in the history of this planet is critical in terms of individual spiritual progress. Indeed, this is why most of us came here at this time: to evolve. The opportunity to go from darkness to Light is huge and there is much to support those who want to increase their Light.

The question is simply: What do you choose? Light or darkness? Above are a few words on what constitutes darkness. So what constitutes Light?

It's when we feel calm, grateful, present, at home. And most importantly aware of what is really going on within ourselves.

Uncannily human beings know what is of light and what is of darkness. There is an inbuilt conscience in our make-up for this. It's just a question of whether you choose to activate this conscience or not. In some, this conscience is so far buried that they will wonder what conscience even means, and will inadvertently but continuously choose suffering over joy. Again, we have our own journey and must make our choices. And all choices have consequences. I'm not really talking about whether you choose to eat bread or pasta; to go on vacation to Barbados or to Devon; or to wear a dress or trousers. These are more logical or common sense choices, for which the human brain is well-equipped for.

The choice at stake is the attachment with which one sticks to a belief come hell or high water, or whether one chooses the path of authenticity and goodness for all.

And if you do take the road less travelled and choose what is of Light, not what is of darkness, what will occur then?

No more rage or fear. No more jealousy. No more despair or hatred. The divine will come alive in you, not as some religion or external system of belief, but as you. The inner worlds will become like a 3-D film, and a whole panorama will reveal itself that will surely inspire your awe and reverence. Of course, life will throw lemons at you from time to time, but you will be more able to make lemonade instead of wishing it were a martini on the rocks.

Light is a conscious choice. Life is a conscious choice. Choice is a conscious choice. The divine is a conscious choice.

Thus in the end, the one real question is:

Do you choose to become conscious?
